Hey Friend! I’m Erika, the face behind Birth Besties, and I’m so glad you’ve made it to my tiny part of the internet!

My journey to becoming a doula began after the birth of my daughter. It was a pivotal moment that deeply impacted me and set me on the path to serving other women and families. I truly believe this calling was from the Lord, and it’s been an incredibly fulfilling path ever since.

I’ve been a certified birth doula in the Raleigh area for over 7 years, and I am passionate about supporting all birth experiences, whether unmedicated or medicated. Your choices and preferences are always respected and honored. As a doula, I work with you to ensure your voice is heard, your autonomy is respected, and that you’re fully informed to make decisions that feel right for you and your family. I’m here to provide you with all the information and emotional support you need to do that.

As a follower of Jesus, my work is rooted in love, grace, compassion, and calling. I consider it a true privilege to serve you and your family, and I am committed to helping you have the birth experience you deserve, no matter how that looks and what you believe.

Birth has a way of weaving deep connections and creating lifelong bonds, and that’s exactly what I strive to build with each of my clients. To me, birth is not just an event, it’s a powerful, intimate experience that deserves full commitment from your birth team. I am honored to walk with you through the journey of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I pride myself on building strong, trusting relationships with my clients, so much so that many families choose to have me by their side again for subsequent pregnancies. The connection I build with my clients is personal, meaningful, and a true gift.
